The Missouri Valley Coalition for Homeless People, Inc. is a regional nonprofit in south central North Dakota with the mission to help ensure housing and other basic human needs are within everyone's reach in an affordable and dignified manner.
         The Coalition exists to advocate, coordinate and optimize services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness across North Dakota's Missouri Valley incorporating the counties of Burleigh, Emmons, Grant, Kidder, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Oliver, Sheridan and Sioux.

The Great Plains Food Bank (GPFB), a member of the Missouri Valley Coalition for Homeless People, Inc., has recently released a report on the study Hunger In America 2010 North Dakota's Reality.

Many of the clients served by the Great Plains Food Bank emergency feeding program network report in the study that their income is inadequate to cover their basic household expenses. ... Thirty-nine percent report having to choose between paying for utilities or heating fuel and food; 34 percent said they choose between paying their rent or mortgage and food.
